What is the QR Code Payment Feature?
The QR Code Payment Feature allows you to make instant payments to other users within TRUMIA by scanning the recipient's QR code. It’s a fast, secure, and easy way to transfer funds.
How do I use the QR Code Payment Feature?
To make a payment:
- Open the TRUMIA app and click on Scan QR
- Scan the recipient’s QR code using your phone’s camera or use the Scan Image to upload a saved QR
- Confirm the amount and transaction details and click Pay.
To receive a payment:
- Open the TRUMIA app and click on All Accounts
- Find the Account where you want to receive the funds and click on Account Details
- If the payer is physically next to you, the payer can scan your QR code, otherwise you can share the QR code through messages, email or any system supported by your phone.
Are there any fees for using the QR Code Payment Feature?
No, there are no additional fees for using this feature. Internal transfers via QR codes are free of charge.
What if the QR code doesn’t scan properly?
If the QR code doesn’t scan, try the following:
- Ensure that your camera is clean and positioned properly.
- Adjust the lighting conditions.
- Check if the recipient’s QR code is visible and correctly displayed.

Can I make payments using QR codes to other banks?
No, the QR Code Payment Feature is currently only available for internal payments within TRUMIA. For external transfers, please use other payments options found in the transfers section.
Can I save my QR code for future use?
Yes, you can download your account QR code from All Accounts -> Account Details at any time, directly from the TRUMIA app.
